Who I Am
Hey there, I'm Lyndsay - The host of this podcast.
I am also a wife, a mom, a former esthetician and salon owner, current student, and a person who has spent a lot of her life trying to understand people, relationships, pain, healing, and the stories we carry with us.
I'm deeply feeling, intensely curious, and probably more emotionally observant than is always convenient. I notice what people say, what they avoid saying, and the meaning hiding behind both. I've always been someone people open up to, sometimes within minutes of meeting me, and I think that comes from genuinely wanting to understand people rather than judge them.
My own life has included grief, motherhood, identitiy shifts, anxiety, complicated family dynamics, rebuilding, and plenty of moments where I've had to question who I was and who I wanted to become. I don't have everything figured out, and I'm not interested in pretending I do.
I'm not a therapist, journalist, or expert. I'm just a real person who believes there is something powerful about being witnessed honestly, without being rushed, fixed, or reduced to the hardest thing you have ever lived through.
The first episode of this podcast highlights one of my hardest moments, and really dives into the silent things I felt like I was not able to say out loud.
Why I Started This Podcast
I started the Silent Parts Out Loud because so much of life happens in the spaces we rarely talk about honestly.
There are stories we soften so other people feel comfortable. The experiences we minimize because someone else "had it worse." The things we carry quietly because we are afraid of being judged, misunderstood, pitied, or seen differently. And then there are the lighter stories- the chaotic, absurd, deeply human moments that deserve to be told simply because they make us feel connected.
I wanted to create a place where people could tell the whole version.
Not the polished version. Not the version that wraps everything up with a perfect lesson. The real version; messy, nuanced, unfinished, funny, painful, contradictory, and human.
My goal is to create conversations where guests feel safe enough to be honest and listeners feel less alone in whatever they are carrying. I want this podcast to hold space for grief and growth, shame and humor, heartbreak and healing, without forcing every story into a neat little ending.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is say the thing we thought we had to carry alone... and have someone stay and listen.
